Meguiar’s MT320 Machine Polisher – Overview
The world of detailing is constantly changing and taking steps forward with new, innovative products. Meguiar’s MT320 machine polisher is a perfect example of a game-changing product that finishes a job that used to take hours in minutes, and to a much higher standard.
Meguiar’s have completely redesigned the machine polisher to make it
incredibly easy to use & to improve performance which means anyone, even if you have zero experience in detailing can simply pick it up & get a professional result every time.
How Does It Work?
Meguiar’s use dual-action technology so that as you’re using it the pads are actually turning in both directions, this leaves your paint with a perfect finish every time. This is just simply not possible to do by hand so you already have a big advantage over hand-polishing.
Another point to add is that because of the dual-action pads you are guaranteed not to leave behind any swirl marks, which is awesome if you’re a beginner.
The machine polisher also has adjustable speed, meaning you can change the speed anywhere from 3000 – 7500 OPM which makes it extremely versatile so you can use it to Compound, Polish & Wax.
How To Use?
Meguiar’s MT320 Machine Polisher can be used primarily for 3 types of paint care, these are as follows:
The steps for each one are actually more or less the same, however, it is important that you adjust the speed accordingly for each one, I’ll explain more below.
Step One – Attach the red cutting pad included in your package and apply a small amount of compound, Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound actually works extremely well with the MT320
Step Two – Adjust the machine polisher speed to 5800 OPM and begin working a 2ft x 2ft section at a time applying 3-4 overlapping passes, if there are any paint defects left simply re-apply to that area.
Step Three – Wipe away any residue with a clean, microfibre towel.
Step One – Apply a small amount to the yellow polishing pad.
Step Two – Set the machine polisher to a speed of 4800 OPM and again, start working it into your paint working a 2ft x 2ft section at a time applying 3-4 overlapping passes.
Step Three – Wipe away any residue with a clean microfibre towel, I don’t recommend using the same towel that you used to remove the compound though, I find it’s a good habit to never use multiple products on the same cloth.
Step One – Apply a small amount of wax to the black polishing pad.
Step Two – Adjust the machine polisher speed to 3800 and work it into your paintwork, again working on a 2ft x 2ft section at a time only this time you need to apply slightly less pressure than with compounding & polishing.
Step Three – Once again, wipe away any residue with a clean, dry microfibre towel.
- For Compounding, Polishing or Waxing it’s important not to let the product dry as it can affect the finished result.
- Don’t use an unnecessary amount of pressure, it won’t make the result better!
The truth is I really like this product, so much so that I actually own one, I just love the simplicity of using it and it’s convenient that the product includes all three pads which are colour-coded to make it even easier for beginners to use.
It delivers a perfect result every time on any car and I guess that’s the best we could ask of the machine, the MT320 polisher is on the more expensive side compared to other machine polishers out there but honestly, it’s twice the package.
- Incredibly easy to use.
- It comes with the three colour-coded pads included.
- Saves a huge amount of time for detailers meaning you can finish more cars in the same amount of time which means you actually make more money.
- Delivers show room results.
- The MT320 is more expensive than some other machine polishers.
Hope I Helped!
